Hey, Pilots!
We’ve just landed back at Tiny Roar HQ after a busy few weeks of flying, playtesting, and convention-hopping. Time for a little postcard from our journey to keep you in the loop.
🛩️ Playtest Adventures
We recently invited a bunch of you to hop in your planes and explore Lou’s Lagoon for a two-hour test flight. The feedback you sent us is pure gold - thank you!
Here’s what stood out:
- Exploring & Collecting: Everyone loved the Swirler (our trusty collection tool), but resource balancing still needs some tuning.
- Flying: Most of you had fun soaring over the islands, but we’ll be tightening up those controls so it feels smoother.
- Fishing: Well… barely anyone found it. Oops. We promise, it exists and it’ll be easier to cast a line next time. 🎣
Our plans going forward: polish the details (controls, balancing, usability) so they don’t distract from the breezy, tropical fun that makes Lou’s Lagoon shine.
🌊 Lou’s Lagoon at Gamescom

In August, we packed our seaplane and flew over to Gamescom, where we joined the Indie Arena Booth with Gamecity Hamburg. It was a whirlwind! So many amazing games, so many players, and yes, a few familiar faces from this very community (big hugs to you for showing up 💙).
The highlights:
- Everyone kept complimenting the game's art style!
- Turns out our ring challenges were a little too tricky, so many people bonked into the starting rings. Don’t worry, we’re making them bigger and easier to fly through.
- And of course, our prize wheel was a hit! Keychains, stickers, and Hefti Caps flew off the shelf faster than we expected 🧢
⚙️ What We’re Working On

Since then, we’ve been back at base, tuning up every corner of the game:
- Smoother UX: Pin blueprints, craft and build with less hassle, and navigate menus that actually make sense.
- More Celebration: Finishing quests now comes with bigger, better “yay!” moments.
- UI & Map Glow-Up: Cleaner icons, easier flow, and a much more useful map.
- Onboarding: The start of the game is getting friendlier, so your first flight feels like a joyride, not a crash course.
- Balancing & Progression: More adventure, clearer cause-and-effect, and more reasons to use all your tools (yes, fishing too 👀).
- Switch Port: Our brave sub-team has been wrestling the mighty boss that is Nintendo Switch performance. Progress is looking great!
Story & Characters: New quests, dialogue, animations, and sounds that make the world and its people feel more alive.
🌺 Wrapping It Up
So that’s our latest logbook entry: a mix of flying high, learning from bumps, and tuning up the Lagoon for smoother skies ahead.
Thank you for being part of this journey, whether you playtested, came to Gamescom, or are just reading this with a fruity drink by the beach. 🌞
Stay tuned for our next video devlog which we plan to publish later this month!
